About Us

JAMES HOLMES

Founder and Owner

James has over 34 years of high integrity service in the Finance and Auto Industry. A Vice President of a large dealer group was quoted saying, "I would trust James with the keys to my house."

James is a favorite son and graduate of Minneapolis Central High. After attending Drake University, James gained valuable finance knowledge and experience as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch Investment Firm. He then worked for many years as a Finance Manager for major dealer groups in Minnesota.

James acknowledges that people in the car business don't always have a reputation for honesty and transparency, but he wants to change that narrative with Black Lion, Inc. He says, "Trust is earned, not given. We would be honored to have the opportunity to earn your business."

KIMBERLY HOLMES

Chief Operations Officer and Legal Counsel

Kim has over 32 years as a high-ranking attorney, including serving as the General Counsel for Governor Mark Dayton. She is widely known for her excellent character and high integrity, refreshing traits for an Auto Dealer owner.

Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed, "The people of Minnesota have benefitted greatly from Kim Holmes' selfless and capable service to the cause of building a Better Minnesota!"

Kim says, "I'm excited for what we will contribute and how we will serve others. We believe we're bringing something to our state that is badly needed and long over due. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve our marketplace!"
